Hey all! I hope you’ve been having a great week. This has been a crazy week for us. I no clue why, but even though we don’t have chillens yet, life gets crazy as the summer comes to an end. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that yesterday was my hubby’s birthday! Happy Birthday, love of my life!! We had an awesome day. Of course, part of the celebrations included some yummy treats! I ended up whipping some mini cupcakes and this uh-mazing frosting. I swear it will be my new go-to buttercream frosting. Forget buying frosting from the store. I’m done. This was easier! I present to you… the BEST vanilla buttercream frosting!
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1½-2 tsp heavy whipping cream
- Using a mixer with a whisk, combine butter and sugar on low speed until smooth. Follow by 2 minutes on medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla and stir until smooth. Add a little bit of cream at a time until desired spreading consistency is reached. Enjoy!
I’ve made many buttercream frostings before but was never terribly impressed. What makes this my new favorite is the use of heavy whipping cream! That tiny bit of cream makes this frosting insanely creamy and delicious. I may or may not have squirted some of excess frosting from my piping bag directly into my mouth. And it was maybe less of the not.
