Slow Cooker Refried Beans

Slow Cooker Refried Beans

I’m a mexican food fiend. I love all mexican food. Salsa. Burritos. Enchiladas. Guacamole. You name it, I love it. But I stink at cooking it. Don’t get me wrong, the mexican food I have made in the past was delicious. But that is only because of those amazing seasoning packets. You know, the paper ones that cost $1 at the grocery store? Don’t get me wrong, I love those packets. But as someone who enjoys cooking, I’m a little ashamed that I have never made true, authentic mexican food.

But that has now changed! And seriously guys, these beans are DA BOMB (oh hi, 1990s!). They are simple to make and are the best refried beans I’ve had outside of a restaurant. And that is saying something. I’ve been on the look out for good refried beans at home for a long time. And these fit the bill. Delicious and easy! Yum! You absolutely must try these Slow Cooker Refried Beans!

Spicy Ranch Potato Wedges

Hi. My name is Talitha. And I’m a Ranch-aholic. “Hi Talitha.”

Spicy Ranch Potato Wedges

My history with all things ranch probably started when I was 7 years old. We were visiting family in Missouri and ordered some pizza. My cousin told me of the amazingness that is Hidden Valley Ranch + pizza. I’ve been a giant fan ever since… as evidence here and here. So when Hidden Valley asked me to recreate an old family favorite with a special ranch-y twist, I was totally game. Now we have a new favorite: Spicy Ranch Potato Wedges!

Honey Pull-Apart Rolls

Honey Pull-Apart Rolls

I’m a bad blogger. A bad bad blogger. I actually made up these amazing Honey Pull-Apart Rolls for Thanksgiving. Yes. I know. That was 1.5 months ago. But better late than never, right!? While I am slow and very bad, these incredible rolls are NOT! In fact, the dear friends we had Thanksgiving with started calling them crack rolls. They are insanely addictive. Despite the fact that I made these for Thanksgiving, they are definitely not a holiday only recipe. I would eat these every night if I could. Plus, the cold weather makes me want to make delicious hearty stuff and these rolls definitely fit the bill.  Continue reading

Italian Baked Fries

The little things are everything.

Italian Baked Fries

When I was contacted by Olivari Olive Oil to join their campaign for the “Year of the Little” I was very excited. I often find it hard to make time in all the busy-ness to to enjoy the little things in life. And I’m sure I am not alone. Too often I spend my days behind one screen or another, forgetting to notice the little things.

Olivari is taking this year to remind people to make time for the little things in life. You can find out more about their “Year of Little” campaign on the Olivari Facebook page. They are sharing some awesome recipes and some cute videos. They even give great “little” tips. I really liked this one:

How To Make Different Types of Coffee

So I wanted to take a minute and remember the little things in life that bring a smile to my face these days. Ready??

Summer rain showers. Flowers blooming. Neighbor kids giggling. Falling asleep to the sound of the rain. Cheese (what!? I like cheese!). The smell of coffee. The sound of the garage door opening, signaling that my hubby is home. Silly ringtones. The summer of shakes. A great book. And homemade italian baked fries.

Yes. Homemade Italian Baked Fries. That is what my house smells like right now. And holy wow. It is an amazing smell. That is my current “little thing” that I am appreciating. And since I am so kind… I wanted to share my recipe with you.

It’s Friday, Friday! Gotta get down on Friday! TGIF! For some reason this week went cuh-ray-zee slow. But the weekend is here and that means time with my hubby and garage sales! Yippee!! And Friday also means that I get to share a new recipe with all of you! {Side note: I wish I had some cool name for these Friday recipes that I share. Food Friday? Flavor Friday? Friday Feasts? Any ideas?} Anywho. This time I’m sharing my all time favorite salad dressing recipe: Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing.
