Holy moly, batman. Christmas is in 2 days. Can you even stand it!? Are you ready? The hubs and I are currently in Chicago visiting with family (and snuggling my newborn nephew!) and enjoying all the festivities. And what are Christmas festivities without some delicious treats? I’m rounding up some of my favorite holiday treats just in time for you to whip up for your family’s celebrations! Be warned… you may start drooling!
We are on our way to Chicago today to visit family for the holidays. So rather than scrambling to write a post in the midst of my mad dash to pack, do laundry, and clean the past few days, I thought I would share a few DIY oldies but goodies that I shared last Christmas. Christmas is just a week away but all 8 of these DIY holiday ideas are so simple that you can have them done in no time! Continue reading
Oh my goodness, peeps. I swear, each time I write up a post I promise myself (and you guys!) that I am going to write more often. But then I walk away from the computer and life takes over. Over the past few weeks we had our water heater explode, leaving water all over our basement. Then we had to replace our dishwasher. And just this past week the stove went out. Awesome. When it rains, it pours… right? So now I promise to try to write as much as I would like. Deal??
In the midst of all the craziness recently, I have managed to crank out 1 Christmas project. That’s right… ONE! I think I had about 15 planned. Stupid life. Always in the way of my crafting fun. I even wanted to do a winter home tour but you’ll be lucky if you see a picture of our tree. But seriously… I kinda love this project. Partially because it cost me $0 and partially because it looks way better than I could have hoped. So I guess if I was only going to get one thing done, I’m glad it was these adorable and incredibly easy Rustic Paint Stick Stars.
Today is the last day of guest posts I have set for all of you! The hubby and I are heading back home tomorrow!
I want to introduce you to another of my favorite bloggers! Her name is Alyssa from The Recipe Critic. She is probably one of the sweetest people I’ve never met! We became fast friends and I can’t go a day without going to her blog and drooling over some food! Alyssa has a fantastic recipe for all of you today. The floor is yours, Alyssa!
I am so glad that Talitha gave me the opportunity to come over and guest post today. I absolutely love this girl! We have become friends through our blogs and she is the sweetest, nicest blogger I know! Not to mention I love her blog and all of the fun ideas and recipes she has.
I am Alyssa over at The Recipe Critic. I am always testing out delicious recipes in my kitchen. My family rates and reviews the recipes and I give my personal input on how the recipe can be changed or things that I did differently. I have always loved to cook! I especially love this time of year with all of the fun holiday treats and family traditions. We always love being warm and cozy in our house snuggling up in a blanket sipping on some hot cider or chocolate. One of our absolutely favorite cider recipe is this Gingerbread Cider. My neighbor gave me this recipe and told me that we had to try it! We loved it! It has the perfect spices in it and makes it absolutely delicious. It is always fun to be with the family making up some of this hot gingerbread cider and a fresh batch of gingerbread cookies!
Merry Christmas Eve to all of you! I hope you have a fantastic day celebrating to your family!
While I’m still away in Chicago spending the holidays with family, I have another amazing blogger sharing today on LPH. Her name is Alicia from Last Night’s Dinner. Alicia and I met through a few other bloggy friends and, boy, am I ever glad we met! Not only does she have wonderful recipes, mad photography skills, but she is so incredibly sweet and kind! And I love bloggy stalking her! Alicia has a mouth-watering recipe to share with all of you today. Take it away, Alicia!
I’m so glad Talitha invited me to post today! My name is Alicia and I blog at Last Night’s Dinner. I’m an RN, an avid reader, a wannabe photographer, and I love to cook and bake. My husband and I have been married almost ten years, and have two little girls, ages five and one. My five year old is as picky as they come, and my toddler eats anything and everything. I love to try new recipes, and often just make things up as I go!
