Spring Mantel

Spring is in the air!!! Can you feel it!? No? Ok. Well I’m pretending that spring is in the air. Or at least sending spring-y prayers out into the world in hopes that God hears them and makes all the flowers start to bloom! I’m forcing my own spring in our home starting with our mantel. Let me just start off by saying… I LOVE a good spring mantel!

Spring Mantel

As usual, when decorating our mantel I start by shopping our home. Never heard that term before?? It basically just means that you walk around your place and pick and choose what things you want to use on your mantel. It’s a nice cheap way to decorate! 😉

I grabbed some tulips the hubby had bought me that I had stashed in one of my DIY blue mason jars, a little galvinized bucket from Target and a fake Jade plant from Ikea. I used the back of my faux vintage Autumn mantel sign turned sideways for the rustic wood centerpiece. And I even raided our wedding box and found the chip board “D”, which I painted green.

I had found the little birdhouses at Michael’s early in the season and finally had a use for them! I painted them fresh, bright colors just for a little extra pop! I got the speckled eggs and raffia from the Target dollar spot. {I seriously love that place}.

I made the spring bunting out of scrapbook paper and some jute twine. I know it is nearly impossible to see the letters but they are a pretty robin’s egg blue. Try as hard as I could, I couldn’t get them to show up well in a picture. Sorry peeps. I promise they look awesome in person!

Now our home has a nice fresh spring-y feel to it! Just seeing our new mantel makes my heart happy! All those bright colors help chase away the remnants of the winter blues.

Have you embraced spring yet? Has your home turned spring yet or are you making your own spring??
