Love, Pomegranate House

Fireplace Mantel Candle-scape

I hope all of you are having a great week! I’m still posting here from Chicago. I am happy to say that my beautiful niece was born and I was able to be there! She is beautiful and healthy! We’ve been having a great time despite the 100+ degree heat and humidity! We definitely didn’t miss the humidity!

Like many of you, I love the idea of candles filling my mantel. But I never really knew how to do it. To help all of those of you who are like I once was, confused and unmotivated and sure that it cost $10 bajillion to buy all those candles, here is how I did it. The easy and cheap way.

DIY Mercury Glass Lamps {Part One}

You!! Light up my life! You give me hope! To carry oooonnnn!!

DIY Mercury Glass Lamps

Yeah, that’s what I started singing as soon as I started writing this post. Now that song is stuck in my head. Thanks Debby Boone. {Don’t worry. I don’t really know random trivia like that. {Printable} Packing List

It has been a crazy few weeks around here! I have been working my tail off! I’ve been trying to get ahead on projects for the blog because, for the next week, the hubby and I will be heading back to our stomping grounds! Look out Chicago!! Here we come!

I can’t wait to go back to good ole’ Chi-town. We haven’t been back since Christmas, which was only 1 month after we moved to Colorado. It’s strange how I expect everything to be both the same and completely different.

It will be a wonderful time of visiting friends and family and getting to love on my nieces and nephews. AND, if I’m lucky, meet my newest niece {who better be obedient and be born while I’m there!}. We will be also making a quick trip down to Kentucky for the wedding of a dear friend. It should be great!
