Love, Pomegranate House

Easy Candy Corn Cupcakes

I was glancing at the calendar today as I sat down to write this post. How in the world can it be the middle of October already!? Wasn’t it just February yesterday!? Man, time is flying fast. Before you know it, Halloween will be here. I guess I better start thinking of Halloween costumes.

With the rapid approach of Halloween, I’m seeing more and more candy at the grocery store. There are giant bags of candy corn everywhere {which, of course, makes me think of my darling sister who has could eat an entire bag in one sitting}. Though I’m not one to consume an entire bag, there is something incredibly Halloween-y about candy corn. So, to bring a touch of candy corn into my life, I made some insanely easy Candy Corn Cupcakes.

20-Minute Hutch Makeover

You know how sometimes you have a piece of furniture you love and it is just lacking something? Just that one little pop? Well, my hutch is kinda like that. I absolutely love my hutch. It was my grandparents’ hutch that was passed down to me. And I believe that it was even passed down to my grandparents when they got married. So this baby is OLD. And I love that about it.

Love, Pomegranate House: 20-Minute Hutch Makeover

This beautiful corner hutch traveled across the country with the hubby and I to start our new life in Colorado.  It is wonderful and fits perfectly in the corner of my dining room. And in our tiny apartment, we needed all the extra storage we could get. I loved my hutch but it needed a little pop. And with 20 minutes and a tube of wrapping paper, I gave it that much needed pop!

Homemade Hand Warmers

I am a naturally cold person. My hubby complains year round that I am ice cold. Whenever we sit to watch a movie, I always snuggle up with a blanket… even if it is 110 degrees outside. And worst of all, my hands are always icicles. Now that the weather is getting more fall-like, I am even more prone to chilly hands. So when I saw these adorable little homemade hand warmers over on The Scrap Shoppe, I knew that I would be making them.

Even if you aren’t a naturally cold person there is always Christmas to think about! And I don’t know if all of you are aware of this, but it is 71 days until Christmas. It really is! I counted. You could easily make a couple of these for some of your cold-blooded friends or family!

Apple Crisp

Some of you may remember that a few weeks ago I did a guest post for my friend, Sarah, on her blog High Heels and Grills. And I thought it was about time for me to share that recipe with you!

I present to you one of our favorite fall recipes: Apple Crisp! This is a recipe I have worked at and refined over the past few years. This final recipe has always gotten rave reviews from dinner guests and family. It is inevitably followed by a second batch once the first went way too fast! It is that good!

Easy Envelope Bookmarks

Today’s post is brought to you by the letter “B”. Or maybe it should be because it is about bookmarks and reading. And because whenever I talk about reading I think of Sesame Street.

Easy Envelope Bookmarks

I’ve always been a reader. I may or may not have read the entire Hunger Games series in 4 days. I also may have just finished the Harry Potter series in about 2 weeks and already be in the middle of another series.

You can always tell my favorite books by the number of times pages have been dog-earred to mark my place in the book. I was inspired when I saw these darling bookmarks from Craft and Creativity and thought it was about time I stop damaging my books, grow up, and make a bookmark!
