We’re Moving!!

That’s right, folks! We are moving! After 7 months of house hunting, we are in the process of buying our very first house! I’ve been very eager to tell all of you for several weeks but I wanted to wait until after the inspection and make sure that all things were definitely a GO! And things are definitely a go! Our tiny apartment is filling with boxes and we move into our very first home in a little over 2 weeks. I can’t wait!!

We're Moving!!

I wanted to share a few phone pictures I snapped during the inspection {hence the ladders in the driveway} to give you a little sneak peek of all the DIY goodness to come. First up? The front of the house, of course! Our soon-to-be home is a beautiful 3-bed, 2-bath ranch with tons of potential {and an unfinished basement!}. As you can see in the above picture… our work is cut out for us in the yard! There is not a blade of grass anywhere in the yard. That will be remedied. Trees will be trimmed, bushes removed, and flowers planted. And the front yard looks good compared to the back yard! I’m just itching to get to work on it!

Did I mention, I’ve been insanely busy!? Fruit trays are always a great option but I wanted to give it a little twist plus add a great fruit dip! So I whipped up a Creamy Vanilla Fruit Dip & Fruit Kabobs!

Homemade Laundry Detergent {Improved}

Homemade Laundry Detergent {Improved}

Eight months ago I shared a recipe for homemade laundry soap. And since I needed to make another batch this week, I thought it was time for me to give you a little update on how it has been working. Well, in one word… GREAT! I don’t think I will ever go back to buying laundry detergent! Seriously! This stuff smells amazing and cleans wonderfully! Plus it lasts such a long time! I made my first batch back in August 2012 and I just made my 3rd batch. Craziness. This time I decided to try a slightly different and improved version of my Homemade Laundry Detergent.

DIY Magnetic Spice Tins

Happy April Fool’s!! I tried to come up with a prank to play on you guys but I’m not very original. And it is hard to virtually switch out someone’s sugar for salt or jump out and scare them. Did you guys have a good Easter? We had a wonderful church service and then got to relax at home.

DIY Magnetic Spice Tins

I’ve been a very very busy bee recently! There has been tons of big stuff going on around here that I can’t wait to tell you about… but it has all kept me insanely busy. Seriously. It has been crazy. All this busy-ness is leading to the desire and need to clean and organize and purge. Yes. Cleaning is my catharsis. One of the first things I tackled in my cleanization-palooza {why yes, I did just make that up…} was my spices. You see, our apartment has an itty-bitty kitchen. No seriously. I have a total of 5 cabinets and 5 drawers. And a grand total of about 3 feet of counter space. So counter and cabinet space is valuable real estate. I hated my spice rack taking up so much of that space, so I decided to get my spices off the counter by making my very own DIY Magnetic Spice Tins.
