Metallic He{art}work

Metallic He{art}work

I have a confession. I actually made this piece of he{art}work for Valentine’s Day but didn’t get a chance to share it. But the good news is that I love it so much that it will become a permanent fixture in our home and will not be put into storage with all the other Valentine’s stuff! So I figured I was still allowed to share it… right!? What can I say?? I love my metallic he{art}work…. pun totally intended!

Metallic He{art}work

This little project was incredibly easy. Seriously. It only took me about 20 minutes to create. And I love it. Here is what you need:

  • Canvas
  • Acrylic paint {I used metallic silver, gold, and copper}
  • Pencil with an intact eraser

Start by drawing a heart shape on your canvas. Of course, you could do any shape you wanted if you didn’t want a heart!

Then dip your eraser into whichever paint color you want to start with and start dotting away within your lines! When you are about 1/3 of the way up your shape, switch to the next color and keep dotting! When you are 2/3 of the way up switch to the last color.

Give it about 10 minutes to dry then go back and erase the pencil line.

Now stand back and look at how fancy-schmancy you are!! Ta-da!!!!!!! Isn’t it great!? And the possibilities are endless! You could even do an ombre effect with varying shades of the same color if you wanted! Or instead of a shape, try doing it with some words or a name! LOVE!
