Love, Pomegranate House

I’m Back & a House Update…

Hello all! I’m back! Did you miss me?? I’ve been missing you all so terribly! Sometimes a break from the blog can be nice but I’m excited to get back to it! The past week has been a whirlwind of packing and unpacking and painting and cleaning. It has been crazy. I thought I would stop in to give you all a little update on our move!

I'm Back!!

Last Thursday we went and signed our lives away and we closed on our new home! Yippee! Hooray!! They gave us keys and everything! That made it all official!

We're Moving!!

Nowย this little beauty is all ours! And boy does it feel like it after spending 9 hours straight on Thursday afternoon/evening scrubbing every little nook and cranny. Apparently, the previous owners had 5 or 6 dogs… and didn’t enjoy cleaning. Two hours were spent scrubbing the dog hair and dried on food out of the fridge. Three hours were spent all Cinderella-like on our hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floors. And the rest were spent on various bathrooms including 2 hours spent trying to remove rusted on toilet seats. This baby needs some serious TLC. But we love it already!

I'm Back!!

After an exhausting Thursday, the movers came on Friday. We packed all of our worldly belongings into a big truck and moved 20 minutes south to our beautiful new home nestled at the base of the mountains. Then the overwhelming task of unpacking started. Luckily we picked my mom up from the airport on Saturday morning to spend 9 glorious days with us! I shared the above 2 gems on Instagramย of all of the fun we’ve been having! I swear, my mom is the Energizer bunny. I don’t know how she does it. She was lining my cabinets about 30 minutes after she got there! And she had my kitchen unpacked by the next day! I can’t keep up! She is painting my living room as I type. {P.S. I got that gorgeous shelf liner at TJ Maxx for about $5 for a 2 pack.}

I'm Back!!

One of the biggest things my mom has been doing since she has been out here is gardening and cleaning up our yard. See, she loves to garden. And she is amazing at it. She has always had the most beautiful gardens that are the envy of her neighborhood. Our yard has not a single blade of grass and about 2 seasons worth of dead leaves {see picture above for a small glimpse at it}. The hubby and I got to calling it “the house that looks like it is haunted.” At least next to all the other beautifully manicured yards on our street. ๐Ÿ˜‰ After her handiwork, it just looks barren, not haunted!

Because of all of its untamed glory, there is a family of snakes that have made my yard home. I’m not so okay with that. I’m not a big fan of snakes. So far we found one momma, whom I have named Beelzebub, and 3 babies: Salazar, Stewart, and Bob. Naming them makes them less scary… right?? I’m hoping that they leave when I remove some of the giant weed bushes.

So that is a little update on how things have been around here recently! It has been crazy! But so great. Soon I’ll have some great projects for you that I have already started {painted rooms, made over closets, cleaning and organizing tips}. Hold on to your hats, people! It’s going to be awesome!

And don’t worry… I’ll be back soon. As soon as I can find my camera amidst the piles of boxes. Then I’ll be able to put away all the cell phone pictures.
