Creamy Mac & Cheese :: A Little Help for the Holidays from Kraft

  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (slightly more if you have a large pasta shape)
  • ¼ cup butter; cubed
  • ⅓ cup flour
  • 1½ cups milk
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
  • ½ lb processed cheese block; cubed
  • ⅓ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp ground pepper
  • ½ tsp ground mustard
  • 2 cups (8 oz) Kraft shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  3. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Stir in flour with a whisk until smooth. Allow to cook for 1 minute. Add in the milk and chicken broth. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 3-5 minutes or until thick and bubbly.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add in sour cream, processed cheese block, parmesan, mustard, and pepper, stirring until smooth.
  5. Drain pasta. Toss pasta with shredded cheddar cheese. Transfer to a 13x9-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Add cheese sauce and mix well.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until bubbly and starting to golden.
