Today’s post is brought to you by the letter “B”. Or maybe it should be because it is about bookmarks and reading. And because whenever I talk about reading I think of Sesame Street.
I’ve always been a reader. I may or may not have read the entire Hunger Games series in 4 days. I also may have just finished the Harry Potter series in about 2 weeks and already be in the middle of another series.
You can always tell my favorite books by the number of times pages have been dog-earred to mark my place in the book. I was inspired when I saw these darling bookmarks from Craft and Creativity and thought it was about time I stop damaging my books, grow up, and make a bookmark!
These adorable little bookmarks couldn’t be any easier and took all of 5 minutes to make!
I decided to add a little pop of fun with a little bit of scrapbook paper on top of the envelope corner.
Slide it over your page and TA-DA! So simple, so easy. Perfect pretty little bookmark.
And you can really make just about any shape you want. I made a triangle, a square, even a little fishie!
My love of my books has gotten even stronger with these adorable little bookmarks! It makes opening the book even more special. It makes me smile!
In my humble opinion, there is something romantic about libraries and bookcases full of well-loved books. And it is because of my love affair with books that I will never turn fully digital. I know that is the way the world is going but there is something special about the smell of a book and the feel as you turn a page, diving deeper into the story and characters you love. Sigh. I think I need to go read now.
What are some of your favorite books?
