DIY Valentines Mail Box

DIY Valentines Mail Box

One of my all time favorite things about Valentines Day when I was a kid wasn’t the candy and sweets I would get {though don’t get me wrong! I love me some sweets!}. It was that little shoebox sitting on my desk filling up with valentines notes. I mean, who does love getting the good kind of mail!? So I decided to make my own little DIY Valentines Mail Box to stick notes in!

All you need is:

  • Cardstock {in color for mail box and flag}
  • Scissors
  • Tape

Cut your cardstock as shown above {I used 12×12-inch cardstock}. You can make your mail box whatever size you want it to be. You just need these principles:

  • Side A is the length that your mail box will be.
  • Side B is the width that your mail box will be.
  • Side A of the large piece {the dome of the mail box} should be equal to Side A of the base of your mail box.

Tape the Side A’s together.

Flip the large piece over and tape the other Side A to the base of the mail box. Cut arched shapes to cover the front and back of your mail box.

Tape the front and back flaps onto the mail box. Only tape the base of the front flap so that the mail box can open. Then cut a flag shape out of the other colored cardstock. Tape it onto the side of the mail box.

Ta-da! I think I’m going to put my little Valentines mail box on my mantel so I made some little envelopes to go in my little mail box! I love it! It makes me smile every time I walk past it!

What is/was your favorite thing about Valentine’s Day? The notes or the treats?
