DIY Entryway Bench

DIY Entryway Bench

A little while back I was telling all of you that I’ve always wanted an entryway bench. A little seat to sit while you slip on your shoes? Sign me up!

First, you saw me paint an old laminate TV stand. Then, I created my cute little pillow and bench cushion!

Entryway Bench Supplies

I started off with 2-inch foam cut to fit the top of my bench. And I found some amazing fabric for the cushion {Premier Prints Marbella Twill Storm Grey}.

Then I followed this amazing little tutorial and created an upholstered bench cushion. It wasn’t too hard but definitely time consuming.

Envelope Pillow

I also whipped up this simple envelope pillow. And added some adorable ceramic buttons I found at Joann Fabric {for only 25 cents each!!!!}. I think both my bench and my pillow turned out amazingly! I love it! A comfy cute little place to sit!

And it sits right inside our front door and is such a great little welcome into our home. {See that window hanging above? It’s a project that is a work in progress and you will see more of it soon!}

Can I tell you that I’m in love with this fabric? When you first look at it you can’t even notice that there are these birds in it. I think it is a little hidden quirkiness and I can’t get enough of it! I named this bird Pete. Hi Pete! {I may or may not say hello to Pete every time I walk through the front door. Yeah. Hello. My name is Talitha. I talk to inanimate objects.}

And here is a little before and after for you. I think the difference is amazing! I love my little bench!

I still need to find some baskets for the shoes underneath, but that is a search in progress. I’ll let you know when I find something, of course.
