Cookies & Cream Popcorn
I’m still on my quest to make bite-sized snacks that will combat my sweet tooth! First I made chocolate dipped pretzels and then I made chocolate peanut butter banana bites. This time it’s Cookies & Cream Popcorn!! I love to have a bowl of popcorn as a snack. Or, being a Chicago native, scarfing down delicious bag of Garrett’s popcorn with the classic combination of cheddar and caramel popcorn. {Sidenote: I know that combination sounds a little weird but holy moley is it heavenly! You seriously need to try it!} So, being a popcorn lover, I wanted to make a sweet treat variation of popcorn so I made Cookies & Cream Popcorn!
- 2 bags microwaveable kettle corn popcorn
- 24 Oreo cookies, finely crushed {I did half regular and half mint flavored}
- 1 {12 oz) bag white chocolate chips
- Pop 2 bags of popcorn according to instruction. Place in a large bowl.
- Combine the cookies and popcorn. Mix thoroughly.
- Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments, mixing in between until smooth.
- Pour half of the melted chocolate chips over the popcorn/cookie mixture and use spatula to evenly coat.
- Pour the other half of the melted chocolate chips over and stir to coat again.
- Spread popcorn out on parchment paper and allow chocolate to set for about 30 minutes. Store in an airtight container.

I love that you can switch this recipe up by using any “flavor” of Oreo cookies to make this! Since I used half mint oreos, it has a subtle minty flavor! Delicious! And perfect for St. Patty’s Day! But you could use any flavor out there to give it a little twist! Try it with the chocolate peanut butter Oreos, or the berry Oreos, or even the coconut Oreos for a different flavor each time! YUM!
I realize that this isn’t necessarily a “healthy” treat. If I sat and ate it all in one sitting I may just get diabetes. But a small handful would definitely help satisfy when those sweet tooth cravings! Like I’ve said before, I’m trying to combat my love of sweets with small, semi-healthy “bites” of deliciousness! Plus, I’m pretty sure that a small amount of this popcorn would be healthier than the ice cream sundae I may have made myself otherwise, right!?
So what is your favorite variation of popcorn?? Cheddar? Caramel? Possibly the combination of both!?
