Chocolate Dipped Valentines Pretzels & DIY Treat Bag

Chocolate {Dipped} Valentines Pretzels & DIY Treat Bag

Recently, the hubby and I have been trying to eat healthier. I have a tendency to want to snack when I’m bored {please tell me I’m not alone in this!}. And I tend not to be so great at portion control. But I’m working on it! With these changes we’ve been making I’ve been trying to figure out small, single bite snacks that I can pop one or 2 of that will satisfy my cravings. {I shared one of my attempts on Instagram}ย And since I’m a sucker for the salty and sweet combination, chocolate dipped pretzels are one of my favorites. With Valentines Day right around the corner, I decided to fancy them up a little bit and make Chocolate Dipped Valentines Pretzels!

Chocolate {Dipped} Valentines Pretzels
Recipe type: Snack, Dessert
  • 2-3 cups pretzels
  • ½ cup chocolate chips, white, milk, semi-sweet, or dark
  • ½ cup peanut butter, optional
  • food coloring, optional
  1. Line baking sheet with wax paper. Set aside.
  2. In a double boiler {if you donโ€™t have one you can bring about 1-inch of water to a low simmer in a small saucepan and place a non-meltable bowl on top of it}, melt chocolate chips until smooth. If desired, add peanut butter or food coloring and mix until smooth.
  3. Dip pretzels by hand into the chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off.
  4. Place dipped pretzel on baking sheet. Place full baking sheet in the fridge to allow chocolate to set. Once chocolate is set, move pretzels to airtight container. Store in fridge. Enjoy!

Like I said in the recipe, you can make your chocolate be any kind of chocolate! My favorites are white chocolate and chocolate peanut butter {hence my advice to add some peanut butter!} And the pink pretzels are just white chocolate with some red food coloring. I used a little excess chocolate I had to drizzle it over top just to make them all fancy!

Then I whipped up this little DIY treat bag as a way to store the pretzels! All you need to make this is wax paper and some washi tape! Cut a strip of wax paper however wide you want the baggie to be. Fold the wax paper, leaving 1-inch at the top. Tape the sides and insert treats! This little treat bag seriously took me about 30 seconds to make. Plus it works great for any other treats too! Think of sliding a cookie into it or any other treat!

Voila! Pretty and delicious single-bite treats! For when you just need a tiny taste of chocolate. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do you have any small, single bite treats you want to share with me!?
