Budget-Friendly Furniture Finds

If you have been around LPH for any length of time you probably have realized that I am crazy cheap. I HATE spending a butt-load of money on something when I can find something of similar style and quality for less money. (Random: did you know that a “butt-load” is an actual unit of measurement? Well it is. You’re welcome.) It is one of the reasons I have never bought anything from Pottery Barn. Yes, I’ll drool over their catalogs, but I can’t justify paying $700 on a bookshelf when I can find it somewhere else for less than a 1/3 that price.

And because I am such an incredibly kind and benevolent ruler of this slice of the internet, I wanted to share my amazing find with all of you. Seriously guys, Sauder is awesome. Sauder is this great company that manufactures high quality furniture at affordable prices. I got this great tall bookcase and gold storage ottoman for less than $250! And yes, in case you were wondering, those ah-mazing label plates came with the bookcase.

Because I’m all about being transparent here on LPH, I have to tell you… my experience with Sauder was fantastic. Yes, this is a sponsored post. But I’m not just saying that I liked Sauder because I feel like I have to. The whole process of finding something I loved, ordering, shipping, and assembly was super easy and smooth.

I search their website, unsure of the style of stuff I would find. Let me just say, this stuff is freakin’ awesome. Watch out Pottery Barn! I was totally impressed with the detail and stylishness of the products. I mean, did you see the molding on my bookcase!? I ordered my 2 pieces and they were delivered 1 week later.

I was a little nervous about assembling it. The bookcase, not the ottoman. The ottoman basically folded out. Took me all of 30 seconds to put together. I was nervous mostly because I’ve had a few issues in the past with deciphering the hieroglyphics from a certain big blue and yellow store. I don’t know if they realize that I’m not an ancient Egyptian. I had zero issues assembling the bookcase. I even did it all by myself while the hubs was at work. I AM DIY-ER! HEAR ME ROAR!

Once my bookcase was all assembled and in place, I had fun styling it. I still feel like I stink at styling bookcases but somehow, I really got in my groove with this one. (At least in my opinion. Don’t burst my bubble if it looks like poop.) I loved playing with the space to hold some of my pretties and a few of our favorite books. (Yes. I am obsessed with Harry Potter. Don’t judge.) Now Ferdinand, my coral crazy bird print has a home. Plus, I love that bringing a few more personal items really makes our room feel more alive.

I’m not ashamed to admit that the 2 things that really pushed me over the top in choosing this bookcase besides the versatility is the fantastic gray-washed color and those adorable label plates. I love them. I think everything is better with labels.

And here it is all styled and pretty. Sitting next to my new gold storage cube.

Okay. Now a word about this gold storage ottoman. I mean… I HAD to get it. I really had no option. Partially because hubby needs somewhere to sit to slip on his shoes. Partially because more storage is always a good thing. But really… it is because IT IS A GOLD STORAGE CUBE!! ‘Nuff said.

All in all, I would definitely order some Sauder furniture again. Great style, great prices. You can’t lose.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Sauder. The opinions and text are all mine.
