Apple Crisp
Some of you may remember that a few weeks ago I did a guest post for my friend, Sarah, on her blog High Heels and Grills. And I thought it was about time for me to share that recipe with you!
I present to you one of our favorite fall recipes: Apple Crisp! This is a recipe I have worked at and refined over the past few years. This final recipe has always gotten rave reviews from dinner guests and family. It is inevitably followed by a second batch once the first went way too fast! It is that good!

Ingredients
- 10 cups apples cored & sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water {this is not always necessary as sugar makes the apples release juices!}
- 2 cups Quick Cooking Oats
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups brown sugar packed
- 1/2 tsp baking soad
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup butter softened
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Toss apples with white sugar, flour, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Place coated apples in a 9x13 pan. Pour water evenly all over {You may not need the water. Blending the apples with the sugar can release a lot of juices}
- Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly. Cut the butter into the mixture. Crumble evenly over apple mixture.
- Bake for about 45 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
Top this with some vanilla ice cream or just eat it straight!! YUM! Tastes just like fall!
