Love, Pomegranate House

Hi! My name is Talitha. Welcome to Love, Pomegranate House! I’m a Pinterest addict, bargain hunter, and a thrift store stalker. I love all things Italian {especially PASTA!}, the color pink, sunshine, and the mountains. I make up words all the time. My hubby says I know every song ever, but really it is only songs from about 2000 and back. Don’t ask me about any modern songs. And most of all, I’m a DIY junkie. I love finding something I must have and creating it my way with my own flair. And even more, I love doing it for cheap. And by cheap I mean free… or as close to it as I can get.

I’m a born and raised Chicagoan. I grew up catching lightening bugs, watching thunderstorms roll in, and swinging on the swingset. I went to a tiny private university in Ohio and while I was in college I started dating the love of my life, David. The funny thing was that we had known each other for 6 years previously but never taken notice of each other or even been friends. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and worked for a few years as a Registered Nurse with Alzheimer’s patients.

One and a half years after graduating from college I married my hubby. Our wedding was about 85% DIY and I loved it! I saved so much money and totally personalized everything that I wanted! I was hooked on DIY from that moment on.

Ten months after we got married, the hubby got a new job. So we relocated to Colorado. During the months of job searching, I began to DIY decorate our home. I would post pictures on facebook for my family to see and was often asked how I did something, where my blog was, or if I was selling any of my projects! What!? People thought I was doing something cool?? I mean, I liked it but that doesn’t mean anyone else would! It was then that we decided that I would stop looking and let my creative juices flow!

My hubby is an incredibly brilliant and wonderful man. He was very supportive in my venture to jump into the blogosphere and try my hand at writing. When I felt overwhelmed and wanted to give up, he pushed me to keep going. Not to mention that he used all his skills to create this beautiful site. I couldn’t have ever gotten this far without him!

And why “Love, Pomegranate House” some of you might say? Well, pomegranates are delicious and tasty and colorful and wonderful! And that is how we want out home to be! We want to fill out home with deliciously beautiful DIY projects! And, well, we kinda have a crush on all of you. So we like to say mushy things like LOOOOVVVVEEE a lot!

All that to say, I created this blog as an avenue to share my ideas and projects with friends and family. And to show all of you the adventures we have DIY-ing our deliciously beautiful life on a budget! I hope you like what you find and take some time to look around! And even better, I hope that if you like us here at Love, Pomegranate House you’ll come back any time! And tell your friends!
