Love, Pomegranate House

2012 Christmas Decor

I’m so excited to share with all of you a little peak into Christmas at our home! I’ve been slowly decorating over the past 2 weeks. But I got sick for a little while there and boxes of Christmas decorations just sat in my living room for days! I finally got around to finishing setting up the last of the Christmas decor today!

Though the hubby and I live in a tiny apartment, I do have a few areas I love to decorate. My absolute favorite area is my mantel! I’ve never had a fireplace before, none-the-less a mantel. This year I went with classic red and gold Christmas colors.

I also wanted to spend as little money as possible so I shopped my house and crafted a few projects along the way! I created my “Joy to the World” sign from red burlap and white muslin. The wood was simply the back of my “Harvest” mantel sign from this autumn. Then I used some of our old stockings and some ribbon I had on hand to create  a pretty little garland.

I filled one of my DIY Apothecary Jars with pine cones and some extra red ornaments. And I filled an old lantern with gold and red ornaments. I also decided to place my DIY Waterless Snow Globes  up on the mantel as well. A string of faux garland, a string of lights and a few candles and I was in business!

I already showed you our Glittery Christmas Card Display. The Christmas cards are starting to come in and they are being pinned up!

I also printed up some of my Christmas Chalkboard Printables. They add such a nice little pop of cheer in places that are hard to decorate!

The hubby and I set up our Christmas tree after Thanksgiving. But I finally got around to taking pictures of it this week!

We continued with our red and gold theme but also made sure to throw in a few sentimental ornaments as well! Just a few of them include the sparkly train {the hubby has loved trains since he was a kid!}, and the Santa ornament. The hubby and I bought that little Santa our first Christmas together. And, of course, there is my medical snow man that my mother-in-law bought me one year!

And of course, the best part of any Christmas tree… the glow of the lights! I had so much more planned for Christmas decor this year but I’m running out of time to do it all!

What’s your favorite part of Christmas decorating?
